Micro droplet mixing with the inkjet device "InkjetLabo"
The inkjet process that does not require microchannels enables the mixing of small amounts of solution and crystallization at low temperatures!
"InkjetLabo" is a simple and multifunctional inkjet dispensing device. This device allows for the mixing of two or more liquids without the need for microfluidic channels (μTAS). Our inkjet head can accurately place micro-droplets on the order of picoliters. For example, when mixing small amounts of two liquids, two of our heads can be used to dispense micro-droplets aimed at the same location, enabling the mixing of solutions. Additionally, because the liquid volume is minimal, mixing occurs while drying, allowing for the crystallization or precipitation of particles through natural drying without heating the substrate. This makes it possible to generate crystalline films on heat-sensitive substrates. It can also be used for contact angle measurement with micro-droplets. By equipping a standard automatic stage, it enables line formation, thin film formation, and dot placement using solutions, and the accompanying dedicated software eliminates the need for complex programming. Furthermore, complex patterning can be accommodated using BMP files. *For more details, please download the PDF.
